Acceptable use
What Batohi may not be used for, and what happens when it is.
Draft under legal review. These terms are not in force and do not yet bind anyone.
Batohi tracks one-to-one mail through link and pixel hosts that customers share. One customer's abuse damages every other customer's deliverability, so this policy is enforced firmly and without notice. It forms part of the terms of service.
Mail you may not send
- Mail to purchased, rented, scraped or harvested lists.
- Mail to a recipient who has not given consent or with whom you have no clear business context — implied interest is not consent.
- Mail to generic or distribution addresses such as info@, support@, sales@.
- Mail that impersonates a person, company or domain you do not control, or that falsifies sender identity or headers.
- Bulk or campaign mail of any kind. Batohi is for one-to-one correspondence.
- Mail sent on someone else's behalf without being their authorised agent.
Harm to people
- Phishing: seeking credentials, payment details or other sensitive information under false pretences.
- Fraud, scams or identity theft.
- Threatening, harassing, defamatory or abusive messages.
- Using tracking to stalk, intimidate or monitor a person against their expressed wishes.
- Tracking mail sent to a recipient who has asked you not to track them.
Harm to the service
- Distributing malware or malicious code through tracked links.
- Attempting to inject scripts or other payloads through tracked links, or to exploit the service, the extension or our infrastructure.
- Sending deliberately to invalid addresses, honeypots or spam traps, or in any pattern likely to produce high bounce or complaint rates.
- Sending mail whose purpose is to manipulate tracking statistics rather than to correspond.
- Using tracked links to drive paid referral, affiliate or engagement-payment schemes.
- Reverse-engineering, reselling or republishing the tracking mechanism or the data it produces.
- Reading, or attempting to read, another customer's tracked mail or results.
- Continuing to use Batohi, or opening another account, after being told of a violation or suspended for one.
Enforcement
We may, at our discretion and without prior notice:
- suspend an account immediately where activity threatens domain reputation;
- close an account permanently for any violation of this policy;
- pass abuse reports to law enforcement, to the recipient's organisation, or to anti-abuse organisations.
We are not obliged to warn you, to give you an opportunity to cure, or to refund anything when we act under this policy.
Damage to a tracking domain
If your use causes one of our tracking hosts to be blocklisted or deprioritised by mail providers, you remain liable for the damage, including the cost of replacing the host and repairing its reputation, and for the effect on other customers.
Reporting abuse
If you receive mail tracked by Batohi that breaches this policy, or you believe an account is being misused, write to abuse@batohi.com with the message headers. We investigate every report, and we do not promise a response time.
